Saxon Hat Chunky is knit in 3 steps. First, a strip containing a defined number of repetitions of the Saxon Braid is worked back and forth. This is then sewn discretely end-to-end to form a round band. Stitches are then picked up along the upper edge of this band and the hat is then worked in the round with symmetrical decreases to shape the crown. Finally, stitches are picked up along the lower edge of the band and these are worked in rib.
